About the classes

A typical class starts with warm up exercises.  These are karate based calisthenic type movements that build strength, flexibility, and stamina.

The second part of the class follows with review and practice of basic and/or advanced movements, skills, and sequences (both individually and also with a partner.)

The final segment of class is devoted to learning level specific skills and subjects.  More focus is given to individual levels and needs during the "class divide" time.

About the facility

We are located at
Yorkson Creek Middle School

20686 84 Ave
Langley, BC

Park in the lot at the west end of the school and enter by the hallway door.  We are a few steps up the hall to the right in the gym with the beautiful wood floor.

If the end doors are locked, please enter through the main doors at the front of the school, turn right and come to the gym.

Club Fees

We are a non-profit karate club – none of the instructors are paid.  We dedicate our time and expertise for free to help club members learn karate.  Club fees go to covering costs of the facility rental, club insurance, and other incidental costs.

There two terms per year.
Term 1: September to January.  Term 2: February to June.  Classes are not usually held during Christmas break or Spring break.  Depending on availability of facilities and instructors, there may be some summer classes (no charge.)  From time to time the school requires the gym and reserves the right to cancel a class.  We will try our best to inform members of such disruptions as early as possible (there are no refunds for cancelled classes.)

We welcome new members with a free trial for one week (an insurance waiver must be completed.)  Students who join part way through a term will have the term fee pro-rated.

Make all cheques payable to Shoreikan Karate Club.
